Register Your Bike Today

posted Jun 5, 2016, 6:29 PM by Daryl Angier

If you have a bike locked to any of the bike racks in the parking garage you MUST register it by June 13. Thank you to everyone who has already registered.

To register your bike, speak to the superintendents or property manager to fill out the registration form and collect your individually numbered registration tag. Please place the tag in a visible spot on your bike such as the handlebars or crossbar. If you are unable to register during business hours, please notify the property manager to make alternate arrangements.

After June 13, all bikes without a registration tag will be removed from the racks and kept aside. At that time there will be a final reminder to claim and register your bike. Following this reminder, any unclaimed bikes will be donated to charity.

Thank you for your cooperation and safe cycling.

Donate your used bike at Ward 13 Environment Day - Saturday, April 16

posted Apr 14, 2016, 7:38 PM by Daryl Angier   [ updated Apr 15, 2016, 3:46 AM ]

The annual Ward 13 Environment Day takes place this Saturday, April 16, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at 2001 Lakeshore Blvd., east of Ellis Ave.

An important part of this year's Environment Day is the Morning Glory Cycling Club's (MGCC) used bicycle drive. This is your opportunity to donate your unused or gently used bike to the MGCC/Gears Annual Bike Drive. Over the past five years, this bike drive has donated hundreds of refurbished bikes to communities in need across the GTA.

For more information on city councilor Sarah Doucette's Ward 13 Environment Day - including all the different categories of household items that you can dispose of in an environmentally friendly way -- click here.

Help us clear out more parking space for bicycles in the garage and support a good cause at the same time.

Thank you,

Management of 70 High Park Ave.

Squirrels and You - Tips for Unwanted Balcony Guests

posted Mar 27, 2016, 7:51 PM by Daryl Angier

Early spring (now!) and late summer are the two periods during the year when squirrels have babies and are looking for places to build nests. Due to our proximity to a large urban park and the mature trees in our neighbourhood, we will never be able to keep our building and our balconies completely squirrel free. But there are a number of things you should be aware of if you see squirrel activity on your balcony.

DOS and DON'TS

DO check your balcony regularly for signs of squirrel activity. DO IT NOW. Your vigilance is the first and most important line of defense in preventing property damage and injury from squirrels taking up residence. Look for things like sticks or torn paper and fabric as indicators that squirrels might be building a nest somewhere.

DON'T leave household furniture or other items stored on your balcony that can make an attractive place for squirrels to nest.

DON'T try to confront squirrels or attempt to relocate them yourself. Squirrels may look cute but they can be aggressive if cornered or if they think their babies are threatened. If you have squirrels nesting on your balcony, contact the the superintendents or the property manager. A pest control company will be called to relocate the squirrels humanely.

DO let the superintendents or property manager know if you see squirrels in or on other areas of the building if you think they may be nesting.

DON'T leave your screen door open.

Thank you for your cooperation.
